JOHNSON-BEASLEY--At the Christian parsonage, at noon, Wednesday, Dec 21, 1898, by Rev. E. F. Harris, L. Elmer Johnson and L. Mabel Beasley, both of Longmont.
The bride is the daughter of our well known farmer J. J. Beasley and a graduate of our high school, class of ‘96. The groom is the son of A. W. Johnson, Mrs. J. R. Forsyth, sister of the bride, entertained the bridal party at a family dinner, after which the newly wedded couple took the train to Denver to spend a few days.

L. Elmer Johnson, Longmont Area Pioneer Dies

L. Elmer Johnson, 87, member of a pioneer Boulder County family, died Thursday morning in a Pueblo hospital after an illness of two years. He was 87.

Mr. Johnson was born on Ralston Creek, southeast of Golden on Nov 20, 1871, and came to the Longmont community with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew W. Johnson, when he was three years old. His parents homesteaded five miles south of Longmont.

Mr. Johnson attended schools here and later attended Bethany College.

Following his marriage to Mabel Beasley in Longmont on Dec. 21, 1898, he and his wife farmed the old Beasley place for many years.

They retired and moved into Longmont in 1930.

He was a member of the Central Presbyterian Church and the St.Vrain Pioneer's Assn.

Surviving is Mrs. Johnson, who resides at 1206 Longs Peak Ave., and a daughter, Mrs. Juanda Morgan, all of Longmont. One daughter, Mrs. Juanita Dickens, died in 1925.

Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Lund and Mrs. Veda Yeager, both of Longmont, and Mrs. Anna Howard and Mrs. Nan Hershey of Denver.

They are eight grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 3:30 pm at Lewellyn Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Goerner officiating. Interment will be in Burlington Cemetery south of Longmont.
