Mable Johnson, Valley Native Dies At 92

Mrs. Mable Johnson, 92, the daughter of the well-known J.J. Beasley's, pioneers in Longmont, died Thursday night at Eventide Nursing Home following several years of failing health.

She was born southeast of Longmont on Boulder Creek on Aug. 19, 1876. She was married to L. Elmer Johnson on Dec. 21, 1898 and after her marriage she and her late husband farmed south of Longmont for many years, moving into Longmont in 1930. Mr. Johnson died in 1959. One daughter preceded her in death in 1925.

Mrs. Johnson, who had been confined to a nursing home since 1963, was a charter member of the Country Club and a member of the Central Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include one son, Clarence E. of Longmont and one daughter, Mrs. Juanda Morgan, also of Longmont; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Harry Yeager of Longmont; eight grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephew and other relatives.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Lewellen Funeral Home.
