Mr. Samuel B. Erskine, of Liberty Township, died at his home, at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon,
of a lingering disease, resulting from old age, he being 70 years old. The funeral services will be
held from the house, and interment will be in Grandview, probably on Sunday, though the time
had not been set at noon today.
Mr. Erskine married Miss Mary Bunn, who survives him. There are eight children, five daughters
and three sons. The sons are Messrs. William, George and Walter Erskine, of this county. The
daughters are Misses Eustasia, Mary, Belle and Hattie, living at home, and one married daughter
living in Dakota.
Mr. Erskine was well known throughout this county, He was one of the wealthiest farmers of
Liberty township. He was, at one time, member of the Lower House of the General Assembly,
from this county.
