Wallace Hightower, 90, of Oakland (Marion County), a retired farmer, died Tuesday of last week at a local hospital. A native of Gassville, he was a lifetime resident of Baxter and Marion Counties.

Survivors include four sons, Elmer and Eugene, both of Mountain Home, Troy of the Whiteville Community; and Don Hightower of Hitchcock, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Mirt Lewis of Midway, Mrs. Thelma Rose of Gassville and Mrs. Virgie Aldridge of Muskogee, Okla., ?? granchildren, 59 great grandchilren and four great, great grandchildren.

Mr Hightower was born at Gassville on August 11, 1877, the son of Henry and Matilda Boyers Hightower. His wife, the former Ada Anglin, died in 1943. He was also preceded in death by four children.

Funeral services were conducted Friday at the First Baptist Church of Gassville with Rev. Otha McCracken officiating. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery, under the direction of the Holt-Burns Funeral Service of Yellville.

Serving as pallbearers were; Clarence and Ralph Denton, Larry and Darrell Rose, Roger Hightower and Ted Rogers.
