Mr. Pate was retired after 46 years with Illinois Central Railroad. He was a member of Central Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Hallene Pate; four daughters, M. Katheryn Quails of Paducah, Betty Solomon of O'Fallon, Martha Thompson of Rifle, and Patricia Pate of Denver; a stepson, Don Burton of Paducah; a brother, Herman Pate of Paducah; 13 grandchildren; and 15 greatgrandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Lindsey Funeral Home with Von Former officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
