Son of John Pool and Elizabeth (Jemison) McClane. Jeremiah Pool married Sarah Mariah Church in Richland Co. Ohio on Feb. 20, 1823. The Pools are believed to have arrived in Williams Co. Ohio about (or a few years before) 1850. Jeremiah served as a Justice of the Peace in Williams Co. Ohio for a period of time in the 1850s. Jeremiah Pool was a farmer and wheelwright. He is said to have served during the War of 1812, probably as a musician or drummer, although this has not been proven. The date of death on the stone is verified by a Williams Co. death record (he died of 'consumption', or tuberculosis).
