Sharon Ann Babin Beaman (Meme) a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA passed away peacefully after a brief illness surrounded by her family on February 13, 2024, at the age of 73. Sharon was born on November 28, 1950 in New Orleans. She graduated from Sacred Heart of Jesus High School in 1968 and Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in 1972. Sharon worked as a registered nurse, spending many years working for Dr. A.J. and Dr. Paul Giorlando's pediatric practice in New Orleans, until her retirement in 2005. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt with a strong devotion to her Catholic faith and was known for being the sweetest mother, grandmother and aunt in the world.


Sharon is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, James "Jim" Beaman and her cherished children, Erin Beaman, Caitlyn Beaman Piper (husband Christopher) and CDR James Beaman Jr., USN (wife Katie). She was the loving and proud grandmother of Grace Beaman, Kiley Piper and Ethan Piper. Sharon was the beloved sister of her twin Sheena Banks, brother Michael Babin (wife Becky) and Elizabeth Babin (husband David Villemarrette). She is also survived by her numerous nephews and nieces, who held a very special place in her heart. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph David "J.D." Babin and Elizabeth Genevieve Mumford Babin. Sharon was a rarity on this earth. A strong-natured woman blessed with a beautiful personality, heart and soul. Her absence will intensely linger in our hearts.
