Gerald Lee "Jerry" Hart was 2nd son of 3 born to Shirley William "S.W." "Bill" Hart and Eleanor Jane (Gretton) Hart. He was born and raised in Mason, Michigan, where he graduated in 1966 from Mason High School. He entered the Vietnam War shortly afterwards, actively serving there for several years.
On 20 Dec 1971, he married Deborah D Smith, in Gatesville, Coryell, Texas, USA. They had one son, Steven James Hart, born in 1972. They divorced around 1975/76.
On 15 Sep 1978, he married Wanda J Swank, of Mason. They had one son, Roy Carl Hart (named after his great-grandfather of the same name), in 1982.
He worked for his father Bill's Hart Well Drilling business, and later his own business for a few years before his death in Williamston, MI. Wanda died in 2023 there.
