Ruth married on June 3, 1824 to Luther Dean and they had seven children.
Ruth became a widow in 1850 at the age of 45 and never remarried. She remained in Nankin, Livonia Twp. until the 1870's when she went to live with her niece Mary Brundage Kear at Tymochtee, Wyandot County, Ohio where she was enumerated on the 1880 U.S. Federal Census. Ruth died in 1883 but it is not know where (neither Ohio nor Michigan have a record of her death). Ruth was buried beside her husband Luther in Newburgh Cemetery.
