Vance was born March 9, 1913 in San Jacinto County to parents John Rufus amd Beulah Hallman Thomas Bazzoon, and has been a longtime resident of the Cleveland-Dayton area. He has resided in the Santa Fe area for the past three years. He was a retired mechanical craftsman and welder for Exxon of Baytown with 30 years of service, member of Tarkington Prairie Masonic lodge # 498 AF & AM and enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
Mr. Bazzoon was preceded in death by his parents, sister Avis Peavey McIlvain and brothers Wyly Addison Bazzoon and John Raymond Bazzoon. He is survived by his son Jim Vance Bazzoon and wife Berlyn of Santa Fe, daughter Helen Louise Gruver and husband Randall of Humble, grandsons Thomas "T. J." Bazzoon of San Antonio, Mark Allen Gruver of Humble and Michael Thomas Gruver of Port Arthur, sister Eva Tilton of Cleveland, brother Drafton Bazzoon of Cleveland and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
