OBIT:
JOHN G. ZUBER
John G. Zuber was born in Baden, Germany, June 22, 1832, and fell asleep in Jesus Feb. 11, 1920, aged 87 years, 7 months and 19 days. In 1862 he came to Williams County, Ohio and located in Center township where he resided the remainder of his days.
In 1862 he was converted and became a charter member of the Evangelical church at Oak Grove of which he remained a faithful member until his death. He enlisted in the 68th Ohio W.F. Jan. 10, 1864 and was honorably discharged July 20, 1864.
He was joined in holy wedlock to Lydia Harman March 11, 1863 and to this union were born 13 children. His wife, one son and two daughters preceded him in death.
Those left to mourn his departure are 10 children, 4 sons and 6 daughters, 49 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of near relatives and friends. He was a kind and loving father.
We miss thee from thy home,dear father,
We miss thee from thy place;
A shadow o'er our life is cast,
We miss the sunshine of thy face,
We miss thy kind and willing hand,
Thy fond and earnest care,
The home is dark without thee,
We miss thee everywhere.
Heaven now retains our treasure,
Earth his lonely casket keeps,
And the sunbeams love to linger
Where our dearest father sleeps.
Sleep on dear father, O gently sleep
Thy troubles all are past;
Although thy loss we deeply feel,
We know thou art home at last.

Card of Thanks
We wish to thank the kind friends and neighbors for their help and sympathy during the sickness and death of our beloved father, for the floral offering and the singers and Rev. Berger and Rev. Steele for their comforting words. --His Children
