DEAD
Elmer Ackley of Easton, aged 39 years, died of ptomaine poisoning, at the home of his brother-in-law, Lon Sparks, in Kansas City January 25.
Mr. Ackley had gone to the city to seek employment, and on Wednesday evening ate a lunch of bologna and crackers. During the night he became ill and a physician was called the next day. He rapidly grew worse and passed away on Thursday night.
He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ackley, and was raised on a farm one and one-half miles north-east of Winchester. Twenty years ago he was married to Miss Maggie Wilson of Easton, to this union six children were born, all of whom are living, the youngest, an infant, 3 months old. Besides the widow and children, he is survived by one sister, Mrs. John Nixon of this place, and a brother, John Ackley of Nortonville. The family resides on a farm near Easton.
The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved family in their sad hour of distress.
