Obituary for Ralph Elwood Becker
Ralph Elwood Becker, of Eureka, died on January 4, 2006, at Medicalodge in Eureka, at the age of 87.

He was born on April 12, 1918, the son of Ben and Lena (Rodenbaugh) Becker. He was raised in Reece where he farmed. At the onset of war, Ralph enlisted in the United States Army and served his country with honor, and dignity during World War II in the Air Force.

On January 10, 1945, after his discharge, he was united in marriage to Wilma Ambler in Alva, Oklahoma. They made their home in Eureka. Ralph worked as a mechanic and other various professions. Prior to his retirement in 1980, he was working as a janitor for Unified School District no. 389. Wilma preceded him in death on October 5, 2004.

He is survived by one son, ... of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two daughters, ... of Derby; and ... of Eureka; one brother, ... of Moline; three sisters, ... of Alva, Oklahoma; ... of Rolla, Missouri; and ... of Great Bend; one sister-in-law Myrtle Becker of Eureka; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, January 9, 2006, at Koup Family Funeral Home, Eureka with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M., to 7:00 P.M., on Sunday, January 8, 2006, at the funeral home.

Memorials have been established in his name to the National Kidney Foundation, and the American Heart Association. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045.
