Elizabeth Lohmann passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at the age of 80 years. She was born Elizabeth Becker on December 17, 1936, to Benjamin and Lena (Rodenbach) Becker, and was raised in Reece, Kansas, as the youngest of 8 children. She relocated to Hardtner, Kansas, with her mother and sisters where she graduated high school in 1955. Following high school, Liz was married to Austin Veatch in 1957 and they had two children, Tracie (Veatch) Leeper, and Randy Veatch.

Elizabeth enjoyed teaching elementary school children and reading skills at Cherokee, Aline-Cleo, and Great Bend, Kansas.

Liz always enjoyed working with students to help them succeed, collecting and refinishing antique furniture, plus enjoying outdoor life with yard and flowers in the summers. Her favorite time with friends or family was on her back patio engaging in conversation about anything and everything.

Besides her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brothers, Ralph, Bob and Jim Becker, her sisters Tommy McMorhan, Christine Webb, Margret Spencer and Pril Zahorsky.
