Theresa Caldwell Brock married Levi Ellis on Feb. 12, 1837 in Fulton County, Illinois. She was about 17 and he was 21. They lost our first baby, Letitia Ann born in 1839, during her first year. Their second child, Harriet Amanda, was not much older when she was stricken and died. Their first son, John W., lived to almost five. Finally their next child, Mary Pleasant born in 1843, made it to adulthood and lived in Coggon, Iowa, just down the road from Delhi where the family had relocated around 1946.
Their first Iowa baby, Elizabeth Theressa was born in 1846 and grew to adulthood. Then Martha Lorena born in 1848 died at age 8, but the twins Louisa Ann and Eliza Lenna born 1851 both grew to adulthood. Their final child, Amelda born 1853, is perhaps the saddest of all as she and her mother died within a year of her birth.
