“Mrs. Lena Kennedy, age 46, wife of Alex Kennedy, of West Lebanon, died suddenly at four o’clock Sunday morning, of leakage of the heart and asthma. She became ill only half an hour before her death.
Mrs. Kennedy was born September 24, 1889, in Illinois, a daughter of John and Sarah Shields. She was married in 1908.
Surviving are the husband; six daughters, Mrs. Leona Mears, and Mrs. Ruby Booe, of Veedersburg; Mrs. Juanita Knee, of Attica; Mrs. Maltida Webb, of West Lebanon, and Margaret and Evelyn, at home; three sons, Fay, Wilbur and Leo, at home, the parents, in Davenport, Iowa; five grandchildren; four sisters.
Funeral services were held at two o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the Hamilton Funeral Home in West Lebanon, the Rev. Douglas, pastor of the Christian church, officiating. Burial was made in the Shanklin cemetery, southwest of West Lebanon.” – July 9, 1936
