Catherine Over Weeter and Peter Weeter were married about 1790. Catherine being of the Mennonite faith, they did not record their marriages at that time because they were afraid of persecution, as was the practice when the Mennonite faithful left Europe. Catherine's father, John Over died in 1793 and he thought so much of Peter Weeter that he made him along with his young son Christian Over, administrators of his will.
