Luther Thomas Alex Alexander Jr, 51, of R.R. 7 Springfield died at 10:10 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Hospital North.

He was born Jan. 21, 1935, in Pleasant Plains, the son of the late Luther and Alice Denny Alexander.

He was preceded in death by three brothers Clarence, James and Ezra.

Mr. Alexander was a truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Local No. 916. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving are three sons, Thomas and Stephen of Little Rock, Ark., and John of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Eleanor Southwood of Monticello, Ky., Ora Guffey of Ashland and Clara Banning of Springfield; two brothers, Robert E. of Ashland and William of Bath; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ellinger-Kunz and Davis Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Hicks officiating.

Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
