Joseph McCoy Baugher, 85, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 12:20 am at his residence. Born in Irving, IL on September 29, 1934. A son of Arthur Ewen and Thelma Georgia (Stokes) Baugher. Mr. Baugher was a veteran of the Korean War, Serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Whiteside. He married the former Mary Jane Giberson on February 22, 1957 in Schram City at the home of his parents. Mrs. Baugher survives. 

Over the years Mr. Baugher was employed at Consolidated Coal Co. Coffeen Mine, Eagle Pitcher, and was a school bus driver for Hillsboro Community School District #3 for several years until his retirement.

Mr. Baugher was a member of VFW Post 1302 in Taylor Springs,. He enjoyed going Hunting and fishing, going to yard sales and auctions.

In addition to his wife Mary, Mr. Baugher is survived by:

Two daughters; Brenda (Steve) Rappe of Winslow, IN and Barb (Henri) Le Veque of Springfield, IL

A sister; Marty Giberson, of Shelbyville, IL

Two grandchildren; Joseph (Alicia) Rappe and Jamie (Justin) Huston

Four great grandchildren; Jackson and Elena Rappe, Emery and Charlotte Huston

Mr. Baugher is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Arthur "Dave" Baugher and George A. Baugher. Three sisters; Vada Bandy, Wilma M. Baugher and Betty L. Funk.
