Pallbearers Named for Ranck Services Monday
Active and honorary pallbearers for the funeral of Mrs. Zora B. Ranck, 81, widow of the founder and former president of Crystal Tissue Co., have been named. Mrs. Ranck died yesterday at Middletown Hospital. Active pallbearers are Calvin Beck, Fred Danford, RL Davidson, Norman Hagedorn, HJ Lawrence, PJ Long, RM Nein and JD Sawyer. Honorary pallbearers will be WJ Beck, FW Becker, RO Deardorff, FH Fanning, WR Fisher, Dr. DF Gerber, HH Harrison, SR Ives, William Jones FJ Long, ML Macauley, EH McCandlish, LT Raine, DW Rust, DE Snider, RH Snyder RS Weatherwax, JB Whitlock and John Wilks. Services for Mrs. Ranck will be held at 2pm Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Russell Galloway officiating. Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery. Friends may call tomorrow at the residence, 16 Alameda Circle, from 3-5 and 7-9pm.

Mrs. Z.W. Ranck Succumbs at 81
Mrs. Zora B Ranck, 81, widow of the late Z.W. Ranck, founder and former president of the Crystal Tissue Co., died at 11:35am today at Middletown Hospital after an illness of ten weeks. A native of Lima, Ohio, who came to Middletown as a young bridge in 1904, Mrs. Ranck was active in both church and community affairs here. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years, serving it in numerous capacities, and gave carillonic bells to the church as a memorial to her husband, who died in 1939. She was a charter member of Presser Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and recently was honored with a life membership. She also was an active member of the Welfare Auxiliary to Middletown Hospital for many years and was a patroness of the organization at her death. Mrs. Ranck was a life member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary, a member of the Woman's Club since 1920, and formerly served on the board of the Federation of Women's Clubs. She was honored in 1956 with the Girl Scouts' "Thanks Badge" highest honor bestowed on an adult leader in recognition of her service to the Middletown Girl Scout Council as a board member from 1924 to 1946. Her interest in Middletown's youth also extended to the YMCA. Mrs. Ranck also gave many hours of voluntary service to the Red Cross during both WWI and WWII. She also was deeply interested in music having been a member of the Middletown Music Club and a sponsor of both the Middletown Civic Symphony and the Civic Chorus. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth Eleanor and Walter Bender; three sisters, Mrs. Glen Reed and Mrs. EE Grant both of Middletown, and Mrs. MB Cole Sr of St. Petersburg, Fla; a brother, Harvey Beach of Lima and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be arranged by the Wilson Memorial Home

Mrs. Zora Ranck, 81, of Middletown, died at 11:30 am Friday at the Middletown Hospital. Born in Lima OH Oct 31 1880, she was the daughter of Bruce and Carrie Geach. Her husband, Zeiber W. Ranck, former president of the Crystal Tissue Paper Company, preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ruth E. Bender of Middletown; two grandchildren, Robert and Betty Ann Bender; three sisters, Mrs. Glenn Reed and Mrs. Helen Grant both of Middletown and Mrs. Edna Cole of St. Petersburg, FL; a brother, Harvey Geach of Lima. Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm Monday in Middletown.
