LOYD BOWMAN
On May 12, 1915, Loyd Bowman was born near Cape Fair, Mo., to Sigle and Pearl Bowman.
The Bowman family moved to the Purdy community when Loyd was a small boy. On Sept. 9, 1936, he was married to Hazel Smith. Two sons, Jim and Eddie, were born to this union. Loyd was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother and sister.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel, of the home; two sons Jim of the home and Eddie of Wheaton; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Bennett of Purdy and Mrs. James Nolan of Monett; three brothers Floyd Bowman of Grants, N. M., Doyle Bowman and Andy Bowman of Purdy; two grandchildren, several nephews and nieces and many nice friends. Loyd passed away on Wednesday May 10 at the age of almost 52.
The outstanding fact of his life was "he was a Christian." Through out the several months of his il1. ness he maintained a kind, cheerful, patient Christian attitude. He died a brave and loyal death. He will be greatly missed, but very soon his grave will open and an immortal, incorruptible body will arise to forever be with God and Christian family and friends.
"For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dis solved, we have a building of God, not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." In the meanwhile as we await the resurrection we will continue to be inspired by the life of a good man. We will remember that his efforts for Christ were not in vain and that one day all of God's children will receive their eternal reward.
God's will has been accomplished. God loves us. God is always with us. So let us praise and honor the One who has made it possible for us to say, "oh death, where is thy sting, oh grave, where is thy victory!" Through Christ we face victory rather than defeat! All praise be to our kind Heavenly Father who "doeth all things well."
CARD OF THANKS
Words cannot adequately express our deep appreciation for the many kind and sympathetic acts that came to us at the time of our recent bereavement.
