Russell Hellard, 89, of Lucas died May 6, 2008, in Glasgow.

The Jackson County native was a retired maintenance worker for International Tool Co. in Dayton, Ohio. He served in the CCC during World War II and was of the Pentecostal faith. He was a son of the late Bradley Hellard and Betty Angel Hellard. He was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Hellard.

Survivors include his wife, Burnis; three children, Linda Marie Salyer and her husband, Billy, of Miamisburg, Ohio, Phillip Wayne Hellard and his wife, Linda, of Gallatin, Tenn., and Brenda Louise Helton and her husband, Joseph, of Hillsboro, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Russell Hisle, Randall Salyer, Ronald Salyer, Kelly Jackson, Rebecca Russell, Wendy Pedigo, Bobbie Jo Murrell and Charles Helton; a sister, Myrtle Bond of Miamisburg; a very special friend, caretaker and former daughter-in-law, Karen Hellard of Glasgow; 11 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
