Alfred M Locklin, born btw 1824-1826 in GA - Son of Samuel Locklin and Celia Zachry.
Brother of Nancy Ann, James Zachry Sr, William Lawson Sr, Samuel G, Celia E and Elizabeth Ann "Betsy" Locklin.
Grandson of Samuel "William" Locklin Sr & Agniss/Nancy Stevenson/Stinson. and John R Zachry and Sarah Hay.
Date of death is uncertain at this time. The last records I have been able to find for Alfred is the 1850 Walton Co., GA census where is is living in the household of his widowed father. He is listed in his father's will, written 12 July 1849 and probated on 4 July 1852 in Walton Co., GA. Earlier, he is listed in "Wayfarers in Walton", Military Commissions, 1819-1860, pg 615 as Alfred M Locklin, 2nd Lt, 454th, 16 Dec 1848.
Update 3 Apr 2011: While searching Ancestry.com I found a listing for A M Lochlin in the California, Mortuary and Cemetery Records, 1801-1932, which shows A M Lochlin born in GA, died 19 Feb 1851, age abt 27 yrs. I believe this is Alfred M Locklin, son of Samuel Locklin and Celia Zachry. As mentioned above, the last record I had been able to locate for Alfred was the 1850 Walton Co., GA Census. It is possible that Alfred went to CA, after the 1850 census in search of some CA gold.

An interesting note: Alfred's brother, William Lawson Locklin Sr, had a son also named Alfred, born 9 Oct 1843 in Walton Co., GA just prior to William and Nancy's migration to TX. This Alfred Locklin also seems to just "disappear". The last information for him is 1880 Milam Co., TX census showing that he married a lady from IL and had adopted a daughter.
