Esther L. Shores, 86, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008, in Glen Rose.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Wiley Funeral Home. Interment: White Church Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Shores was born June 19, 1921, in Somervell County to C.W. "Buck" and Emma Beck. She married A.D. Shores in 1984 in Smith County. She was the first female area manager for Woodmen of the World Insurance Co. She loved to quilt and sew and she volunteered at area nursing homes. She was a member of Overton Baptist Church in Overton.
Survivors: Son, Johnnie Griffin and wife, Cindy, of Overton; grandson, Dwayne Griffin and wife, Connie, of Glen Rose; great-grandchildren, Brandon Griffin and Sarah Griffin; stepgrandchildren, Doug Shores and wife, Carol, of Stephenville, Morris Shores and wife, Pam, of Arp, Fayette Mathney and husband, David, of Tyler, Lillian Farmer and husband, Leon, of Bridgeport and Ben Harrison and wife, Heather, of Henderson; stepgreat-granddaughter, Dani Anne Harrison of Henderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
