Daughter of Walter & Mary (Baldwin) Thornburgh, who are buried at West River Friends, Wayne County, Indiana. Her father assisted the Colonial Army during the American Revolution and has been recognized by the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Elizabeth and her husband, Moses Mills, were the 3rd family to settle in Perry Township, Wayne County, Indiana; settling in 1815 on the present site of Economy, along with Moses' brother, Henry.
A Founding member of the Springfield Monthly Meeting of Friends at Economy. Her husband was chosen as assistant clerk of the Meeting when it was founded on March 1, 1820. The couple were early merchants in the Economy settlement, partnering with her father. This was the third business establishment in Perry Township. When Moses died, Elizabeth's brother, John, took over Moses' portion of the business partnership.
Married August 28, 1808, to Moses Mills.
They had eight children:
