Doyle Samuel Armes, 72, of Springdale, died June 25, 1988, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Fayetteville. He was born Sept. 15, 1915, in Kingston, the son of Joseph and Mauda Weathers Armes. He was a member of the Faith Regular Baptist Church, a retired gardener, former landscaper for the Sanger, Calif., school system and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his widow, Dortha Armes of the home; one son, Samuel Lynn Armes of Citrus Heights, Calif.; one daughter, Doris Ward of San Jose, Calif.; two brothers, Noel Armes of Springdale and Clebert Armes of Galena, Mo.; two sisters, Velma White of Springdale and Dorothy Heiman of St. Charles, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were Tuesday, June 27, at Memorial Funeral Home of Springdale with the Rev. Johnny Sisemore officiating. Burial was in Bluff Cemetery.
