Herbert, of Beaumont, passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
He lived in Beaumont his entire life and attended public school there. He was a well known landlord, businessman, beef producer, horseman and timber producer in the Southeast Texas area.
His parents William Martin York and Mable Virginia Drake York; his wife, Hazel of forty-seven years; a brother, William Wesley York; and grandson, James Britton Butts preceded him in death.
He was survived by three children and their spouses, Patricia Ann York Lanier and her husband James, Mary Linda York Butts and her husband Tommy and Herbert Henry York, Jr. and his wife Claire; grandchildren, Melissa Ann Lanier Williamson, Monica Lynn Lanier Chapman, Melinda Elizabeth Butts Hudson, Brenda Kathleen Butts Mobley, Thomas Eugene (Jay) Butts, Trudi York Freeman and Tassie York Ferrill; great grandchildren, John Garrett Williamson and Macy Elizabeth Williamson, Mason Howard Chapman and Logan James Chapman, Britta LaN'ae Hudson and Brennan Ray Hudson, Brook RaShell Driscoll, Brittney Renee Driscoll and Christopher Lee Mobley II; Rodney Thomas (Hunter) Butts, Lance Britton Butts and Logan Bryce Butts; Jonathon Sanders, Doughton Reeves; one great great grandson, Trenton Wayne Grissin and several nieces and nephews.
