From U.S., Special Census on Deaf Family Marriages and Hearing Relatives, 1888-1895 on Ancestry.com:
Belle was one of seven children of John Lindsay of Findlay, OH. When she was 6 years old, she contracted scarlet fever which left her deaf. She married Charles on September 22, 1884 in North Findlay, OH. They had two children, John Wilson Climes born July 1, 1886 (who could hear), and a daughter born in February 1891. "Mrs. Climes died February 26, 1891 after giving birth to a daughter two weeks before."
However, Summit County birth records show it was a male, Valentine Climes, who was born February 14, 1891 in Akron, OH to Charles and Belle Climes. He was to die only 10 months later.
"The remains of Mrs. Belle Climes will be removed from the County Infirmary, where she died Tuesday, to her home in Greensburg, to-morrow. The funeral will take place in the afternoon."
