Fred Falldorf, Resident Since 1873, Passes Away

Fred Falldorf, an old and highly respected citizen of this community, passed away yesterday afternoon, January 3, at his home, 816 West Koenig Street, after an illness of a few months with Bright's disease, at the age of 64 years, 9 months and one day.

Fred Falldorf was born in Hanover, Germany, on April 2, 1853, where he resided until 1873 when the family removed to he United States, and settled on a farm near Grand Island. For a few years Mr. Falldorf was in the employ of the government, carrying mall from Sidney, this state to the different government forts.

On December 4, 1879, he was married to Dorothea Pargman, and to this union was born five children, all of whom, with the wife, survive him. They are: Mrs. John Heesch, Henry D. Falldorf, John Falldorf, Mrs. John Schuller and Otto Falldorf, all of whom reside on farms near Grand Island. He is also survived by his aged father, Henry Falldorf, Sr., and one brother, Henry H. Falldorf, Jr. of Grand Island, and one sister, Mrs. Annie Reifers of Boulder, Colo., and sixteen grandchildren.

After his marriage, Mr. Falldorf removed to a farm four miles south an done mile east of Grand Island, where he and his wife resided until about four years ago, when they removed to this city.

Mr. Falldorf was, at the time of his demise, a member of the Platt-Deutsche Vereen and a member of the A.U.U.W.

The funeral will be held from the home, 816 West Koenig Street, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the services being conducted by Rev. H. Schumann, and interment will be made in the Grand Island cemetery.

The many friends of the bereaved family extend their heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing wife and family in the losss of a loving husband and father.
