Last evening Mr. Sam'l Duey and family, of Plainfield, accompanied by his mother, the widow of the late Wm. Duey, left on the 6 05 train en route to Chester, Nebraska, where they will make their future residence. The following brothers of Mr. Duey, and also a married sister, reside at Chester: Martin, John, Joseph, Parker and Jacob. A sister who resides at Walnut Bottom, is the only remaining member of the family who resides in this county.

Mrs. William Duey, mother of the Duey brothers, of this place, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Phillip Throne, in Republic county (sic), Kansas, on Sunday morning September 30, 1900, at the age of 74 years, 5 months and 1 day.
The funeral took place from the residence of Phillip Throne on Monday morning, October 1, conducted by Rev. C.S. Gilmore, and the remains were taken back to Pennsylvania, to be laid beside her husband, who preceded her about a year ago. The remains were accompanied by Joseph Duey and Phillip Throne.
Elizabeth Wert was born in Cumberland county (sic) Pennsylvania, April 26, 1826; was married to William D. Duey October 6, 1847, was the mother of thirteen children, seven boys and six girls, ten of whom are now living. She united with the United Brethren church (sic) when quite young and has always lived a faithful Christian life. She was a loving wife and mother, a kind neighbor and all who knew her in this life will have cause to mourn and sympathize with the bereaved who are left behind.
The relatives desire to return their thanks to all the kind friends and neighbors who so kindty (sic) assisted in this hour.

She is survived by her sons, Samuel, Martin, John, Joseph, Jacob and Parker, and Mrs. Throne, all of Nebraska, Mrs. Wm. Carl of Pittsburg, and Mrs. Sallie Smarsh, of Centreville. Funeral Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the home of her sister, Mrs. George Clay, of Plainfield. Interment in Plainfield cemetery (sic). Mrs. Duey was a resident of Carlisle Springs and Plainfield until about a year ago, when she went west. Deceased was a member of the United Brethren church (sic) for about sixty years.

Mrs. Elizabeth Duey, aged 76 years, died Sunday, Sept. 30, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Philip Throne, Chester, Nebraska, from dropsy of the heart. The deceased was born near Carlisle Springs and was a daughter of Martin Wert. She was a member of the U.B. Church for sixty years. In September, 1899, she went West after residing in the vicinity of Carlisle for many years. She was the widow of the late William Duey, formerly of Plainfield, and is survived by the following children: Samuel, Martin, John, Jacob and Parker Duey, and Mrs. Susan Throne, of Chester, Neb.; Mrs. Samuel Kinert, of Kan.; Mrs. Wm Cral (sic), of Pittsburg, and Mrs. John Smarsh, of Centerville; also the following brothers and sisters: Mrs Maria Finkenbinder and Mrs. Geo Clay, Plainfield, and Jos Wert, of Carlisle. The body will be brought to the residence of Mr. Geo Clay in Plainfield and the funeral will take place on Wednesday afternoon at 8 o'clock. Interment at the Bethel cemetery (sic) in Plainfield.
