Douglas Lynn Tackett, 59, of New Albany, Indiana passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time outdoors.
He was born on January 5, 1957 in New Albany to the late Lubie and Margaret (Von Allmen) Tackett. Doug was also preceded in death by his brother, Victor Tackett, Sr.
Doug is survived by his loving companion, Jannette Scalf; step-children, Amber, Shanna, and Brian Scalf; siblings, Dennis Tackett (Martha), and Joyce Melhiser (Norman).
Cremation was chosen following Doug's wishes. Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) was entrusted with his care. He will be laid to rest privately at Atkins Chapel UMC Cemetery in Floyds Knobs, Indiana.
