Paul Harvey Eversole s/o John William & Bessie M Harvey Eversole

Alamo-- Paul Harvey Eversole, age 85, died at his daughter's home in McAllen Thursday afternoon after a long illness. He was an Alamo resident.

The Rev. Eversole was a retired minister & missionary, having moved to the Valley in 1962, where he pastored at Lyford Pilgrim Church until 1964. He then pastored at La Villa Evangelical Covenant Church from 1964 to 1968. Missionary work in Cuba & & Mexico was done until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of Bible Methodist Church in Brent, Ala.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth N. Eversole of Alamo; 2 daughters, Margaret Velasquez & Arlene Eversole, both of McAllen; 2 sons Paul J. Eversole & Harold Eversole, both of Alamo, 5 sisters, Agnes Turner & Orlena Whistler, both of Nowata, Okla, Ellen Smoot of Coffeeville, Kansas; Goldina Sullivan of Havana, Kansas; Mary Linn of Independence, Kansas, & 6 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. today at Skinner Funeral Home in Pharr with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. at Skinner Chapel, 426 W. Caffery, in Pharr, with the Rev. Marta Gonzalez officiating. Burial will follow at Palm Valley Cemetery, on N. Sugar Road in Pharr.

Pallbearers will be Gerald McGlauchlen, Carl antrim, George Gonzalez, edwin Tomes, Carl Poe & George Davis.
