Mary D. Linn
, 92, of Independence, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003 at Regal Estates in Independence.

Mrs. Linn was born Feb. 5, 1911 in Elk City to John William and Bessie Harvey Eversole. She grew up in Elk City. She attended elementary school and graduated from the Elk City High School in 1930.

On Feb. 15, 1932, she married Walter Cecil Linn in Independence. He preceded her in death Dec. 18, 1987.

They made their home on a farm in rural Elk City. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lone Cherry Baptist Church and the Card Creek Club.

Survivors include three sons, Norman Linn of rural Independence; Delaine Linn; Bill Linn, both of Independence; two daughters, Shirley Smith of Waggoner, Okla.; Sally Adolph of Independence; three sisters, Orlena Whistler of Nowata; Goldena Sullivan of Havana; Agnes Turner of Nowata; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, two brothers, two sisters, one grandson and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Thursday at Webb & Rodrick Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City.

Visitation hours will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Webb & Rodrick Funeral Home.

The family has suggested memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or the Lone Cherry Baptist Church and contributions can be left at the funeral home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Webb & Rodrick Funeral Home, Independence.
