Our beautiful, fun-loving, vivacious Momma, Grandma, Great Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend, Linda Heaton Berrett, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, March 5, 2023, at the age of 73.

Linda was born in Kanab, Utah, on October 14, 1949, to LeRoy and Esther Heaton. In her youth, she was very social and outgoing with no inhibitions. She was popular in school, genuinely loved people, and made everyone feel like they were her best friend. Linda had a mischievous side to her and was known for being a free spirit in her youth. She loved her family and cherished her close relationships with her parents and siblings. The Heaton's were a tight-knit family. Esther always dressed Linda and her siblings in matching home-sewn clothing, while LeRoy had them singing and performing together. As a teenager, Linda enjoyed playing the clarinet in her Dad's high school marching band. She also enjoyed cheerleading in high school. After graduating, she moved to Provo to go to hair school where she became a talented hairdresser.

Linda married John L Bench on August 23, 1968, and together they had five children. They taught their children to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. Tragically, they lost their third son, Doug, when he was just two years old. John and Linda later divorced.

Linda married her beloved husband, Sherrell Kimball Berrett, on September 29, 1988. They were sealed in the Jordan River Temple. Sherrell and Linda lived in several cities throughout Utah, California, and Georgia, making many wonderful friends and memories. Sherrell and Linda introduced everyone as their "dearest closest friends." They were known for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and witnessed many come unto The Savior through the waters of baptism. They loved their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They loved and were loved by all of their nieces and nephews. In their later years, they were blessed by the companionship of their two dogs, Miss Maggie and Ellie Mae. They treasured their time as service missionaries at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

Linda loved to cook gourmet meals for her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Her homes were always tastefully decorated. She had a great eye for detail and was always well dressed. She never left the house without her hair, nails and outfit perfectly coordinated. In fact, she asked that no one wear black to her funeral; she wanted a celebration! She became an interior designer and designed for both commercial and personal settings. Her role as a decorator became who she was to the people that she loved; a decorator of life. She was so excited to go to the spirit world at the end of her life and start preparing for her family by decorating for them there. When Sherrell passed away, Linda longed to be with him. It turns out, she was only away from him for a short 5 months. She so badly wanted to be free of her pain and suffering. She is home and finally at peace with so many loved ones.

She is survived by her children Tami (Jay) Minnick, Troy (Kim) Bench, Matt Bench, Mark (Jodi) Bench, Lisa (Russ) Minnick, Jill (Paul) Klein, Rick (Kristi) Berrett, Kyle (Jenn) Berrett, thirty-one grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, her sister, RuLea Brooksby Taggart and four younger brothers: Lyle (Patty), Dale (Martie), Gary (Sandy) and Shaun (Angie) Heaton. She is preceded in death by sons Douglas John Bench and Chad Berrett, her husband Sherrell Kimball Berrett, and parents LeRoy Cox and Esther Ruth Heaton.

As a family, we would like to express our love and gratitude for all who loved and cared for our Mom over the past 15 years while she was not feeling well. There are too many to list. Thank you for loving and serving her!

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 at 11:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Corner Canyon Stake Center, 13366 South 1300 East, Draper, Utah. A viewing will be held that morning from 9:00 -10:45 am. Interment will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, Sandy, Utah.
