Laura Patricia (Dean) Black-Bonnett, 66, of Cumberland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, with her family at her side.
Born September 12, 1949, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Isom Joseph Dean and Daisy Mae (Gregory) Dean.
She was also preceded in death by her lifetime companion of 45 years, Robert W. Bonnett; and three brothers, Eugene, Rudolph, and Clay Dean.
As a young girl, Pat worked at Judy's Sub Shop in Baltimore, and continued her education by getting her GED and real estate license. For many years, Pat enjoyed the real estate market and antique collecting. In 1984, Pat moved to Cumberland, where she found her second home in Points, West Virginia. She lived in Points until
2006 before returning to Cumberland for her remaining years.
Pat's favorite past times included listening to country music, gardening and visiting antique shops. Pat enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She attended the Tri-State Ministry Center in Hyndman.
Survivors include her five children, Charles Black Jr., Sharon Black-Yates, Eric Black, Jason Black, and Justin Bonnett; five sisters, Lenis, Ardabella, Jo-Anne, Corina, and Sherry; and 10 grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Monday, August 15, 2016, from 1 to 3 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home, with Pastor Stevie Leydig, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-State Ministry Center, 232 Hyndman Road, Hyndman, PA 15545.
