In 1865, Mary Jane Frances, Leonard and John Bell Fuqua went west with Leonard's parents and several of his siblings and families. Leonard and his family stopped in the Boise, Idaho area where Leonard and his wife's brother, Theodore Warner Boone purchased and ran a ferry on the Snake River. Leonard, Mary Jane Frances and John Bell returned home in 1870, just in time to be included in the 1870 Federal Census as residents of Jackson County, Missouri. There they resided for the rest of their lives, but no doubt participated in a few more excursions west, as Boones and Fuquas were prone to do.
