∼1832 = Jan. Married Miss Constance "Mary" Philabert, orphan daughter of Gabriel Philabert of Canada, a family of French extraction who moved to St. Louis in 1816.
On the death of her parents, she with her sister Mary Ann, was taken by her uncle, Joseph Philabert, and her brothers, Gabriel, Joseph, John, Frank and Peter were apprenticed to trades. Her brother Gabriel was subsequently appointed government blacksmith to the Kaw and Osage Indians and was stationed in Kansas Territory, near the mouth of the Kaw.
