A. D. Merriman Brinkley, 95, of Trinity, passed away Monday, September 4th, 2023. Visitation will be Thursday, September 7th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life service will be Friday, September 8th, 2023, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Royce Teague officiating. She will be laid to rest at Midway/East Lawrence Cemetery.


Mrs. Brinkley is survived by daughter, Flossie Laymon (Mark), daughter, Kathy Burks (Roger), daughter, Sue Foote (Jerry), daughter, Candy Mitchell (Dennis), daughter, Nina Brown (Jeff), son, James Leach (Pam), daughter, Tina White, 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Bryant Henderson Merriman and Ellen Harris Merriman; son, James Benford Weatherby; husband, Richard James Brinkley; brothers, B. H. Merriman and Curtis Merriman; sisters, Zora Smith and Abigail Holt.


Mrs. Brinkley was born Saturday, June 16th, 1928, to Bryant Henderson Merriman and Ellen Harris Merriman in Punkin Center. She had eight children, two boys and six girls. She was a homemaker that loved to tell stories of growing up on the farm as a preacher's daughter. She lived by her faith, and prayer and she loved her family. She played women's softball well into her 60's. She loved reading her Bible, writing songs, going to auctions, selling at the flea markets and was an avid Donald Trump supporter.


Pallbearers will be Dallis Pruett, Matthew Johnson, Daryl Payne, and Damian Foote.
