Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Daw, 76, who died Thursday morning in Detroit following a long illness, will be held Monday morning at 11:00 from the Docker-Wilhelm funeral home in Elk Rapids with Rev. John W. Alexander officiating. Burial will be made in the Maple Grove cemetery.
Mrs Daw was born March 10, 1879 to Pershall and Mary Dean of Yuba and spent her early life there. in 1901 she was united in marriage to John Daw and the couple settled on the Daw farm in the Elk Lake area. Mr. Daw preceded her in death in 1923.
Following his death Mrs. Daw made her home in Traverse City and served as a practical nurse for many years. She moved to Grand Rapids in 1950 and lived there until ill health forced her to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Murphy in Detroit.
Surviving besides the daughter is one son, Theron, of Lansing; three brothers, Robert Dean of Nassau, New York, Herbert of Columbia, California, and Joseph of Traverse City; and many other relatives.
