Mr. Dean was born in Yuba on June 10, 1894, the son of Samuel and Marie E. Dean, and was a respected member of that community. He came to Traverse City in 1940 to make his home and was associated with the Grand Traverse Auto Co. for two years. in 1942 he became an employee of the Traverse City state hospital, where he worked for a number of years.
He was an active leader in the Yuba Methodist Sunday School for many years. He was also a member of the Elk Rapids Masonic Lodge No. 275.
Surviving besides his wife, Ernestine, of this City, are one son, Lowrie, of Williamsburg; two daughters, Mrs. Dorotha Causey of New Boston, MI and Mrs, Elizabeth Wood of Kingsley; nine grandchildren; two sisters and three brothers; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the Hibbard chapel Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, with Rev. Alvin Doten of Asbury Methodist church officiating. Burial will be made in the family lot in Yuba cemetery
