"Lester D. Hootman, 62, of Garner Lake, Johnson County, died yesterday at the Veteran's hospital, Wadsworth, Kas., where he had been a patient three months. An autopsy will be performed. He was born in Harris, Mo., and was a lifelong resident of Greater Kansas City. Until his illness, Mr. Hootman was a machinist with the Kansas City Structural Steel company. He was a member of the Ben Hur Masonic lodge and the Scottish Rite in Kansas City, Kansas, and the Gardner American Legion post. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Naomi Hootman of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Flory of Topeka; two sisters, Mrs. Fern Miller of Reno, Nev., and Mrs. Ada Williams of 4408 Forest; and two grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 o'clock Monday at the Simmons chapel; burial in Mount Muncie Cemetery, Leavenworth.: The Kansas City Times, February 22, 1963
