Obituary: Elsie Beckman, age 90, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 1986 in the Fallon Memorial Nursing Home after a long illness. She was born May 26, 1896 at Capitol, MT, the daughter of William J. and Emma Quinlan, grew up and attended school in Camp Crook, SD. Her father "Shorty" Quinlan, drove stagecoach between Belle Fourche and Buffalo and her parents came to Baker in 1912. Elsie was married to Henry G. Beckman of Baker on May 26, 1914, on her 18th birthday at Henry's homestead one and one-half miles northwest of Baker where they resided. Henry passed away in 1968. She was also preceded in death by three sons – Cecil, Ernest and Gerald. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Roy (Alice) Bettenhausen, Mrs. Norman (Jean) Stenerson and Mrs. Walter (WillaMae) Flint, all of Baker: seven grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church were she was an active member. She also enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, quilting and her friends. Prayer service was held Friday evening at the Stevenson & Son Funeral Home. Funeral serviced were held Saturday, October 4 at 11 am. At the American Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Aaseng officiating. Pallbearers were grandsons and great grandsons. Out of town relatives attending were Mrs. Evelyn Green and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hansen of Miles City, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Green and Clifford Green of Volborg, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Watson and family of Colstrip, Mrs. Julia Olson, Mrs. Leone Moncur and Mrs. Norman Teddy of Belle Fourche.
