ALLENTOWN - Alice Bone Goodroe Shelnutt, 81, of highway 80, died Sunday in Jeffersonville. -Services will be held at 11A.M. Tuesday, August 2, 2005 in the Allentown United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Allentown City Cemetery. Rev. Billy Wicker will officiate. -Mrs. Shelnutt was born in Laurens County the daughter of the late James E. and Mary Bell Fambro Bone. She was the widow of the late Wesley Goodroe. She was preceded in death by a stepson Jimmy Shelnutt. Mrs. Shelnut was a former employee of the Twiggs County School System and was a former funeral assistant with the Four County Funeral Home. She was a member of the Allentown United Methodist Church. -Survivors include her husband Joe Shelnutt of Allentown; daughter Ann (Aubry) Nobles of Danville; sisters, Jolene Adams of Allentown, and Marilu Jones of Lizella; brother J. E. (Mary) Bone, Jr. of Youngstown, FL; daughter-in-law Janet K. Shelnutt of Allentown; three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. -The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Monday in the Funeral Home. -Reece Funeral Home in Jeffersonville has charge of arrangements.
