Deanna attended school in Maynard and graduated as valedictorian in the class of 1957. She continued her education at Hamline University for two years. On April 24, 1961, Deanna was united in marriage to Calvin Grussing at Bethany Reformed Church. To this union three children were born: Lonna, Jonathan and Amber.
