He was born on July 22, 1947, in Cedar Falls, IA, the son of Frank and Geraldine (Saul) Ackerson.
He was raised in the Finchford area on the family farm and graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1966.
On April 13, 1968, David was united in marriage to Kathy Dietrick at New Hartford Baptist Church.
He retired from Benton's Ready Mixed Concrete.
David's greatest enjoyments in life were his family, hunting, and working on tractors and vehicles.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy; his parents; a brother, Joe; and a sister, Diane.
A family-directed celebration of life will be held at a later date.
