"Up town the report was that many people had been killed, but a hurried investigation revealed that Oakland's list of fatalities was limited to five. These were Otto Wicher and his little daughter, Amala Wicher; Thomas Marney and his wife Sadie Marney, all preformers at the Empire Theater on the ground floor of the Bushell building, a two story brick structure on 12th St.; Alvin Waite, aged 20, who was also roomed in the Bushell building." *Source- San Francisco Bulletin, 29 Apr 1906, Sun ·Page 10
