William Hope, Sr. and his first wife, Cecelia/Celia were married in 1793. They had 9 children. She died c1820. Most of the sons (John C., William Hope, Jr, Henry and David (b. c1819) moved to Alachua Co., Territory of Florida in the 1830s. Except for John C Hope who moved to Texas in the 1840s. the other 3 moved to what became Hernando Co. using AOA Land Permits for 160 acres for having participated in the @nd Seminole Indian Wars of 1835-42.
