Douglas HOGAN, age 14, s/o Capt. Wm HOGAN of schr. "Alma" was drowned at sea on 12th May. He left here 6th May on a voyage to Barbadoes, the vessel being lumber laden. On the date name the lad, who was sitting on the cabin, fell off in a roll of the vessel. A boat was lowered but before the boy could be reached, he threw up his hands and calling to his father to save him, he sank. He was Capt. Hogan's oldest son.
