Gordon L. Beatty, 70, of Ormond Beach, FL passed away peacefully on July 2, 2014 at Halifax Health-Hospice in Port Orange, FL. He was born in Thayer, MO on Nov. 25th 1943 to Lucille & Harry Beatty. Gordon was a wonderful man who loved his Lord and Savior in Jesus Christ, his family, and his friends. He was a member of Miles Road Baptist Church in Summerville, SC. After moving to Ormond Beach, he has been in faithful attendance at First Baptist Daytona. He was an avid fisherman and loved his prayer park by the Halifax River. Gordon served his country in Washington, DC during the Vietnam Era. Left to cherish many happy memories is his wife of 35 years & 16 days Celena Fletcher Beatty, his daughter Robin Underwood and son-in-law Steven Underwood, sons - Dennis (Edie), Bruce, and Anthony Boyers, his grandchildren -Courtney (Fiancé Allan Barney) and Lindsey Underwood, Nicole, James, Wesley and Madison Boyers, AJ and Kyle Boyers, & great-grand-children Caleb and Cailynn Hays, brother Kenneth Beatty, nephew Darrell Beatty (Yolanda), niece Debbie Boyce (Butch), and numerous cousins. His parents, sister-in-law Maurene and nephew Jerry Beatty pre-deceased Gordon. Gordon's family rejoices in his Salvation and knowing he has made it safely to his eternal home. He will be missed dearly. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 8th, 2014 at 11am, with visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am at First Baptist Daytona. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Gordon's memory if you so desire.
