Joseph C. Abts, age 90, passed away on December 7, 2020. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 58 years, Peggy (Haynes) Abts; his parents Edward and May (Michalski) Abts; his brothers Victor, David, Earl and Richard; his sisters Doris (Helms) and Phyllis (Hamer); his great grandchild Kaden Abts. He is survived by his three children, Mike (Glenda), Kurt (Vickie), and Chris (Tina), four grandchildren, Adam (Amy), Allison Marczewska (Chris), Devin, Hailey McBride (Dillan), two step grandchildren, Josh and Sam Gravlee, five great-grandchildren, Kalen, Colton and Kinley Abts, Ryan and Lindsey Marczewska.
The loves of Joe's life were God, his family and fishing.
The Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 11th at 11:00am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2 Xavier Circle, Birmingham, with inurnment immediately following in the parish columbarium. Due to Covid-19 safety precautions, there will be no visitation prior to the service or reception following. We also ask that masks be worn to protect yourself and those around you during the celebration of life. May he rest in eternal peace.
Memorials may be made to St. Francis Xavier Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
